Festival Recap: Afro Nation Detroit Day 2

Words by Elul Adoga and Beth Teka

PartyNextDoor blessed the stage as his final stop in his tour Sorry But I’m Outside based off his song “Sorry But I’m Outside” with dance group called Pretty Angles. The Toronto R&B singer was nothing less than electrifying with a little bit of sexy. Performing his top hits such as Back from Toronto and Come and See Me. PND brought out the R&B vibes that we were all waiting for to this year’s AfroNation.

Asake started his performance with his famous song “Mr. Money” released at the start of the launch of his growth in 2020. Since then he has put out three albums that were highlighted in his performance at the Festival. Asake had truly engaged with the crowd from start to finish. One of the unique things that Asake did was come down off the stage to engage with the crowd towards the end of his performance. You could tell he was genuinely happy to be there with all his fans and the fans felt that love from him. It was the perfect ending to Afro Nation Detroit 2024.
