Kaylee’s Corner: Roundup

Words by Kaylee Federmann

Anxiety by Claudy

Claudy’s new track is one you’re bound to hear bumping in the club soon if you haven’t already. This rhythmic and fun pop song is a catchy and honest take on having anxiety. Something everyone can relate to, sometimes we let our emotions and anxiety get the better of us, but… at least we can jam out to this song while doing so.

Mr & Mrs by Somewhere In Between

Mr and Mrs is a dramatic sonic take on the classic love ballad. These lovebirds are pouring their feelings for eachother into their music. Adding the orchestral instrumental is a nice touch as well- helping us to really bring out and feel the warm emotions they’re trying to emulate.

Lips by Andrew Batcheler

Need a hot a girl walk? This is the song you should be playing in your headphones. A confidence boost before work, or motivation at the gym, the drums in this one will keep you going. The track also pulls from indie rock influences in the production and vocal tone to really bring home the high energy.

Laughing Not To Cry by Lo Stone

A chill indie song about telling yourself you’re alright when really, you’re not. The chord progression is spicy and the production is simple, yet beautiful. This song does a really great job with the intimacy in the vocal production and lyrics as well.

Go Back Home by Hush Money

This is the song to get you going when you need a motivational fix. A country rock band singing about a hometown they can’t go back to. With a catchy beat and an easily singable chorus, “Go Back Home” is a great add on to your summer car ride, windows down playlist.

When It Rains by von Krogh

This lyrically dramatic ballad draws influences from both R&B and Jazz. A longing song from one lover to another, carried by beautiful acoustics. There is live musical element in this track as well that makes it stand out from most modern day music- with live drums and guitars.

Hand Me Down by Ashley Jo

A wholesome song about things being passed down to you from your family. It can be super special to get your first hand me down- whether it be an article of clothing, or even a car. It’s the first time we all learn the value of something someone worked for just in order to gift it to us, and this song sums it up really nicely.
