Oakland’s very own rapper and storyteller, Ian Kelly,  just released his new EP, “A Summer Pack With Love,” with collaborations and genre blending. Inspiration for the EP stems from Ian's travels and experiences with collaborations with Sandy Benjamin from Ohio, Lulbearrubberband from Oakland, and Sunday.  The title of this new EP paid homage to Dom Kennedy’s ‘From The Westside With Love,’ who is an emcee from the West Coast.

The opening track, "In the Bay," featuring Sandy Benjamin, is an infectious ride, perfect for cruising with its nostalgic 90s hip-hop vibes and a catchy chorus. The playful nod to Big Sean with the lyric “I don’t f*** with you” adds a layer of familiarity that fans will appreciate.

Next up is “Step” featuring SundaY, which shifts gears into a groovy R&B vibe. The blend of Kelly’s sharp rapping and Sunday’s soulful vocals creates a dynamic soundscape, showcasing their lyrical collaboration and the expert production by Kyran "Irategenius" John.

“Love Agenda,” featuring Lulbearrubberband, dives deeper into hip-hop, with its introspective lyrics questioning romantic intentions. Produced by Raymond "YR Beats" Moultrie, the track’s hook—“Is love on the agenda, that is what I wonder”—captures a relatable sentiment, while Lulbearrubberband’s verses bring a compelling energy.

The EP continues to impress with tracks like “Get It In,” featuring Jwalt, which opens with a smooth fade-in and maintains a catchy, grind-focused rhythm, and “Hands Up,” where Kelly encourages listeners to embrace their individuality amidst the chaos.

Closing the EP is “The Matrix,” where the futuristic production creates a captivating atmosphere. With lines like “keep it brand new,” Ian Kelly invites listeners to explore new possibilities in their own lives.

With standout tracks like the rhetorical “Love Agenda,” the upbeat “In The Bay,” and the thought-provoking “Hands Up,” *A Summer Pack With Love* sets a vibrant tone for Kelly’s musical journey.

Having performed during Grammy Week and featured on BET Jams, Ian is rapidly becoming a force in hip-hop, further established by his time with 9th Wonder's Jamla Records.
