As the summer sun sets over the rolling Oxfordshire countryside, the stage is set for one of the UK's most anticipated music festivals - Truck Festival 2023. Nestled in the idyllic village of Steventon, this event promises to deliver a weekend of musical discovery, camaraderie and pure magic. With a diverse lineup of established acts and emerging talent, Truck Festival 2023 is shaping up to be an unforgettable celebration of music and community.
Truck Festival, known for its vibrant atmosphere, is the perfect platform for artists / bands to showcase their immense talent and connect with a wider audience. With previous headliners including the likes of Wolf Alice, George Ezra and Sam Fender, the festival has become a rite of passage for emerging artists looking to make their mark on the industry.
So let’s take a closer look at this years line up - here are 5 acts we cannot wait to see perform:
The Reytons - Friday @ 20:30, The Market Stage
Yorkshire's indie rock gems, The Reytons, are ready to rock Truck Festival 2023. Since The Reytons' debut single, their music instantly resonated with listeners, some songs capturing the essence of late-night revelry and small-town camaraderie. These tracks set the tone for the band's no holds barred approach to music, quickly becoming main stayers within the indie rock scene.
The Reyton’s set on Friday is an opportunity to witness the unapologetic energy and unfiltered spirit that has earned them a devoted following.
Two Door Cinema Club - Friday @ 21:30, Truck Main Stage
Get ready to dance and sing along as Two Door Cinema Club, the indie-pop pioneers from Bangor, Northern Ireland, make their triumphant return to Truck Festival. The band also headlined in 2019, closing the weekend that year. With their infectious beats, catchy hooks and electrifying stage presence, the beloved trio are set to deliver an unforgettable performance that will have the crowd bouncing. Since their formation in 2007, Two Door Cinema Club have become synonymous with infectious indie-pop anthems - a great headline booking for Truck.
Maisie Peters - Saturday @ 18:15, Truck Main Stage
Hailed as one of the most promising young singer-songwriters in the UK, Maisie's raw talent, emotive performances and relatable storytelling have won the hearts of fans worldwide. At just 23 years old, Maisie Peters has already made a significant impact on the music scene. Her debut album, "You Signed Up for This," released in 2021, solidified her position as one of the most exciting voices in the singer-songwriter genre. The album's honest and introspective themes, coupled with Maisie's soulful vocals, struck a chord with fans and critics alike. Her second album, “The Good Witch”, was released 1 month ago so fans should expect a good mix of both new and older songs.
Pale Waves - Sunday @ 17:15, Truck Main Stage
Get ready for a dazzling display of indie pop brilliance as Pale Waves, the Manchester-based quartet known for their dreamy soundscapes, take the stage at Truck Festival 2023. With their distinctive blend of shimmering synths, catchy melodies and introspective lyrics, Pale Waves are set to deliver an electrifying performance that will have festival goers dancing and singing along in euphoria.
Fans can expect a setlist that spans across their entire discography, featuring a perfect balance of fan-favourite hits mixed in with newer material. Pale Waves first caught the industry's attention with their debut single, "There's a Honey”, which quickly garnered praise for its infectious melodies and lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie's captivating vocals. Then came their debut album, "My Mind Makes Noises", featuring popular tracks such as "Television Romance", "Kiss" and "Eighteen". Fast forward to today and Pale Waves now have three albums, with "Who Am I?" and “Unwanted” completing the set.
I’ve personally seen Pale Waves twice before and have been very impressed on both occasions, so the crowd at Truck Festival 2023 are in for a treat.
The Lathums - Sunday @ 18:30, Truck Main Stage
There are always a few bands playing festivals where you think “they could be future headliners” - and I think after The Lathums perform on Sunday, the crowd will be thinking exactly that.
The band from Wigan, England have two UK number 1 albums, which is unsurprising as they create infectious melodies, poetic lyrics and captivating live performances. Formed in 2018, the quartet consists of frontman Alex Moore, guitarist Scott Concepcion, bassist Matty Murphy and drummer Ryan Durrans. Their distinctive blend of indie rock, pop and folk influences has earned them a devoted fan base and critical acclaim.
Their infectious energy and authentic sound have earned them opportunities to support renowned acts such as The Killers and Blossoms, further cementing their place in the indie scene. At Truck Festival 2023, The Lathums are set to deliver a performance that will undoubtedly be a highlight of the event.
