A sunny day at the Coca-Cola Roxy was filled with enthusiastic Joshua Bassett fans. The 23-year-old actor/musician has set off on the Golden Years Tour. Having released his new album “The Golden Years,” everyone was eager to hear the album live. The night was filled with Joshua jumping around on stage, interacting with the crowd, and fans giving him a lesson in line dancing.

Thomas Day impressed the crowd before Joshua. His high-energy song “Vicious,” set the right tone and fans sang along. The long catwalk got him close to everyone and he could see their bright smiles. The Nashville-based singer then went into “Masochist,” an indie track mixed with heavy drum beats. Thomas couldn’t stay still and said hi to everyone in the crowd. His enthusiastic set slowed down for “I Don’t Wanna Leave Yet,” and “Stranger.”  Phone lights went up and it was a beautiful moment. From a delicate piano, he transitioned into an unreleased song “Paper Cup.” Fans were swaying and dancing along to the catchy track. His set ended with “Pretender.” Thomas Day was a perfect opener for Joshua!

Half an hour later Joshua leaped on the stage with “The Golden Years.” The 2,000+ capacity venue erupted with fans screaming and there was not a frown in sight. Right in the first song he went into the crowd and said hello to fans. Joshua was running around the stage and reaching out for fans' hands. The next song was “Secret,” a single that came out in 2021, and fans knew every lyric and adlib. Joshua then played tracks from his recent album,  “Cherry Blossom,” “Circles,” and “Biting My Tongue.” During Circles, it became the part of the show where he brought fans on stage to do a line dance with him. They danced together and the crowd interaction did not stop there! He showed off his talented guitar and piano skills.

The chandeliers of the venue were vibrating with Joshua’s lively set. The bright colors of yellow and blue shined over the crowd for “Mirror.” He slowed it down on piano with “Lifeline,” a gut-wrenching song with intense lyrics. For “Different” he announced that he would enter the crowd. Fans were around him and he was shaking their hands. This moment was a heartfelt moment with Joshua and the crowd. Joshua then played, “Little Rita,” “All In Due Time,” and “Smoke Slow.” Everyone was dancing from the floor to the balcony, and there was even a fan-made conga line. These slow songs then picked up with “Set Me Free,” a vulnerable song about dealing with trauma and keeping his distance. The final encore songs were “She Said He Said,” and “Look How Far You’ve Come,” but before that, a fan had a sign to play “Common Sense,” with him on guitar. They played it together and everyone sang along.

Joshua Bassett knows how to get a crowd dancing and jumping around. He had the crowd moving and laughing along with his funny banter. The way he wants to get up close and personal with fans shows how much his fans mean to him. If you’re looking for an amazing show, make sure to catch Joshua Bassett!
