5 Artists We’re Excited to See at Head in the Clouds 2022

Words by Elaine Tantra

The wait is almost over. The 2022 Head In The Clouds festival is finally kicking off this weekend on August 20th-21st. This year, 88Rising’s annual festival will once again be held at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. Over 30 artists will be performing throughout the weekend, all ranging from pop, r&b, to rap. In addition to Headliners NIKI, Rich Brian, and Jackson Wang, this year’s lineup also includes artists like Mxmtoon, Audrey Nuna, Hojean, Warren Hue and more. So here’s a look at some of the artists we are excited to see this weekend:

  1. NIKI

With the way things are going for NIKI, this year might just be one of her biggest years yet! Recently, she just announced her first solo tour, premiered a short film But I’m Letting Go, and released a self-titled album full of intimate and beautiful songs she wrote in high school that we just can't wait to hear live. She will be performing at the 88Rising Stage at 10 pm on Saturday. She is definitely an artist you won’t want to miss!

2. Audrey Nuna

It’s been an exciting summer for Audrey Nuna touring with American Rapper BLXST. You may know her for her hit single, “damn Right” and her collaboration with Jack Harlow, “Comic Sans”. With her sick beats, her set at the Double Happiness Stage at 7:10 pm on Saturday is definitely one you’ll wanna check out this weekend!

3. Warren Hue

Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, Warren Hue is one of 88Rising’s newest members. Coming back a second time to perform for Head In The Clouds, he's got a new album Boy Of The Year which is just full of “experimental and glitchy rap”. That and the announcement for his first tour is proving this year to be a big one for him. Be sure to check him out at the 88Rising Stage at 4:15 pm on Sunday!

4. Rich Brian

Being one of the big faces of 88rising, Rich Brian has been performing for the Head In The Clouds festival since the very beginning. As always, he will certainly bring the energy to his performance so be sure to catch him at the 88Rising Stage at 7pm on Sunday if you want an even more unforgettable experience.

5. Mxmtoon

Mxmtoon has had a busy year from releasing her new album Rising to wrapping up her North American tour a couple months ago. And there is no stopping her soon, as she will be heading to tour Australia, Europe, and the UK after the Head In The Clouds festival! You won’t wanna miss her show at the Double Happiness Stage at 9:35 pm on Saturday!
