Single Review: Living In My Headphones by Brainheart
Words by Angelina Singer
For anyone who needs an uplifting anthem to get them through tough days, this new tune is just the thing. Electro-pop producer Roei Zoar ( Brainheart) teamed up with vocalist Michael Shynes to bring you this latest track. From its chilled-out acoustic guitar-centered introduction, to its alt-rock energetic choruses, there’s so much to dig into. With almost a quarter million monthly listeners on Spotify and over a million streams, Brainheart is an artist that you won’t want to miss out on. Paired up with Shynes’ smooth, consistent vocals, you’ll love this track and everything that it stands for in the realm of self-awareness and confidence.
I absolutely loved the uplifting vocals and the way he compares life to being your own soundtrack. Despite challenges and sadness, the lyrics inspire the listener to embrace the idea that “in the soundtrack of my life / I am a hero now”. Sometimes all it takes is the bravery to step out of your comfort zone to fully embrace the possibilities of all that life can bring you.
From the production side of things, I appreciated the changing dynamics in this piece, as well as the way the verses and choruses ebb and flow together. The subtle build-up from the second verse into the second chorus was especially well-done in both its subtleties and sonic textures.
If you’re ready to spring into your own next era, but have been lacking the motivation, this song will help you bridge the gap from where you are and where you want to go. Listen to “Living in My Headphones” and other music by Brainheart on Spotify here.
