Words by Sarah Ruiz

The Miami Book Fair returns for its 41st annual event, uniting the city's vibrant literary community from November 17–24  at the Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami.

This week-long celebration of books and culture promises a dynamic lineup of authors, panels, activities, and special events for all ages. Whether you're an avid reader, a budding writer, or simply looking for something new, the Miami Book Fair has something for everyone.

From the opening night block party to the street fair, literary discussions, and evening events with renowned authors, there's no shortage of activities. The “Lost Chapter”, will feature live DJs every night and exciting pop-up vendors, including Smorgasburg Miami.

The fair will also highlight Iberoamerican literature with conversations and panels featuring Spanish-speaking and Hispanic authors, journalists, and more. The “ReadingEast” program will spotlight authors and discussions exploring Middle Eastern and South Asian experiences in literature, providing an important platform for diverse voices.

The Street Fair will offer a lively mix of exhibitors, authors, and artisans showcasing books, art, and handmade goods. Attendees can enjoy games, live music, author readings, and, of course, the Smorgasburg Miami Pop-Up, a foodie's paradise.

This year, the Miami Book Fair is proud to feature a host of award-winning authors, including National Book Award honorees like Erin Entrada Kelly, Lin King, Sam Sax, and many more. The Fair will also host special "Evenings With" events, where you can hear from acclaimed authors such as Connie Chung, Erik Larson, Sarah Smarsh, and others.

The Miami Book Fair isn’t just for adults, families and children will find plenty of activities to enjoy, including the “Children’s Alley”, which will offer educational and interactive playgrounds. The Fair’s commitment to inspiring young readers is evident in its programming designed for kids of all ages.

A highlight of the Fair’s literary programming is the “Read Caribbean Series”, which brings together authors such as Fabienne Sylvia Josaphat-Merrit, Edwidge Danticat, and Myriam J. A. Chancy to discuss narratives of resistance in Caribbean literature. This engaging conversation will be moderated by Vania André.

Whether you're an old friend of the Book Fair or a first-time attendee, make sure you don’t miss this year’s incredible line-up of events. The Miami Book Fair has something for everyone—stunning author debuts, exclusive panels, lively street fairs, and fun activities for the entire family.
